Pet Rat Qs
Okay well I have two adorable rats :)
They live in an aquarium.. which smells awful, so I'm going to go and buy a cage for them in a week, when I get my allowence. I want to play with them where I can also enjoy myself, normally I'm on the computar, doing my work, writing things, or just whatever, and other times I'm watching T.V, they're always so hyper and want to run around. Is their any special activities I can do with them? Something that they like, something that can bring them closer to me?
Answers:rats are extremely smart! which im sure your already know! so you need to find some good activities that you can do with your rats that make them work and think hard for what they want... but at the same time having fun! some of my favorite, im sure your rats will like them too!
*What ever you do please dont buy them rollie balls.. it can cause back problems and almost every rat will claw your hand to death when you try to put them in there! they are soo much happier running around with out anything restraining them!!
*1. Rat Pinata-- layer several paper towels flat on a surface and put a handful of favorite treats in the middle, now fold up the sides and hang from a high place where then will have to reach up to get to it.. they love it! =]
*2. Bobbing for Peas-- have a big rubbermate and fill it about an inch deep with luke warm water and some empty tupperware (for rats who dont like sitting in the water) then add frozen peas/corn- but not too much! just about 4-5 per rat because you dont want them to get sick :) i have had some times when the rats dont even care about the food they just like the bath :)
