Can rats eat almonds, I read in some places that they can and some others said they can't ? Can somebody clarify ?
Answers:I have given my rats almonds all along. They haven't gotten sick from them. There is a nurse on Yahoo groups/ratlist who feeds her rats many things supposedly bad and she has healthy rats.
They have also eaten apple seeds, but in such small quantities, 1 apple has only a few seeds.
There rats. They eat anyhting and everything in my house that is left on the floor then why can't they eat almonds?
they can, but only like one a day, maybe less. its just because almonds are high and fat, and rodents tend to get fat faster than most animals lol!
listed below is a web page which gives a good list of foods to avoid feeding a pet rat.. you have to scroll down a little to see the list...
It's generally best not to.

They eat anything, or try to eat anything in their path! Try cheese attached to a "head banger" Oh yes, they also like peanut butter.
they can but one like every other day otherwise its not good for them
almonds are high in fats, and although its ok in moderation i wouldn't let them eat lots of them everyday...after all, it is a rat, and rats eat almost anything...i have had dozens of rats over the years, and never had a problem with their diet as long as it wasn't too much of one thing...so i say it's ok as an occasional treat
Yes they can since it a nut and natural.!
