Pet mice Can I put 2 new mums together with their babies
our little girls have had babies. One was 4 days ago and one was just over 24 hours ago. Can we put them in the same cage with their babies? We separated them into boxes and containers when we thought they were going to give birth but now we feel sorry that they are not together.
Will they eat each others babies??
Answers:At this point it is best to leave them seperated until the babies are 10-14 days old.
The move may stress out the mothers and they may kill the babies.
Most mother mice will help care for eachother's young. It would have been just fine to leave them together, but best not to disturb them now.
When the babies are about 2 weeks old, you can try introducing the families to eachother. They will probably be fine, especially if they have lived with eachother before.
Just remember that baby mice can start having their own babies between 6-8 weeks old. So seperate the males into their own cage by then.
No plain and simple they don't accept others baby's.
nooooooooooooo they will attack each other it's best if you separate the mum and the baby's
If you put them together they will steal each others babies and some could be canabalized. I would keep them separate.
yes they will eat each other babies.so dont put them together.
absolutely not. mom's are extremely protective of their baby's. your asking for trouble doing that. seriously keep them seperate!
I would recommend that you don't. A seperate family of hamsters, really like their own cage. Yes, you think that it would be GREAT to have the two families together, but, like I said, just one family per cage. Once all of the pups are 8-10 weeks old, then, I would recommend that you find a new home them all! They are ready to be seperated from their Mother's at that age. If you keep the families together for longer then 8-10 weeks, then, they will start to FIGHT! So, I would start advertising that you have hamster pups that need new homes! But, if you don't find enough homes for all of the hamster pups, then, I would recommend that you put all of the different pups in their own cages! I hope that this answers your question! Thanks! Thanks, and good luck,
if U do, watch them closely. If they fight, separ8 them. I'd B very careful if they didn't grow up 2-gether in the same cage. the best way 4 them 2 grow up 2-gether is in a huge spacious tank. w/ plenty of housing accessories. if all else fails, just separ8 them.
No, many bad possibilities.
