Pet-safe roach killer
I have small roaches in my kitchen (i live in Brooklyn..!) and I also have a dog. I don't want to spray raid because its harmful, inefective and gross.Any ideas of a homemade solution that would deter the bugs but not harm my pooch?
Answers:Baking soda. sprinkle it in rows along the edges of the room, edges of dressers and across doorways. Roaches clean themselves like cats do, so when they get baking soda on their feet, they ingest some of it. the baking soda dehydrates them and kills them, all without hurt any other animals or the environment.
no idea
Get a spray bottle and fill about 1/5 to 1/4 of it with liquid dish detergent, and the remainder fill with water. Spray that on your small roaches. It works perfectly, but you must score a direct hit. The average roach will instinctly try to run away--and that's what kills 'em. Less than 10% of the roaches will sit still, and wait for the soap water to dry. They can survive that way.
I've used this a lot, so I know it works! It will also work on the full-grown, winged variety, but not nearly so well. The adult roaches require multiple direct hits, and perhaps between a minute and three minutes before they die. Smaller roaches, however, as well as ants or other insects, will perish within 30 seconds or less.
No dangerous chemicals! Easy cleanup! (But try not to breathe the spray.)
Ugh, roaches. I hate roaches.
