Plants in a hamster cage true storybut how 2 prevent this2007-11-24 22:14:32

i swear i really did find plants in a hamster cage i trew it away cause i thought the roots were somthing strang i put it in the back yard and i was gonna throw it out today and there were 5 or 6 plants wierd huh

yes weird, and the plants in your hamster cage suggest your not cleaning it out very much, and the seeds from the food spilled out and got water on em, then they sprouted.

Nope...not strange at all. Between the "POOPY" and the wood chips...plants will continue to grow (especially cuz the water keeps it damp)...You want to clean the cage every single day...that's the ONLY thing that'll keep the plants from growing.

That's not weird it happened 2 my passed hamster Jet. I immediately cleaned his cage out cuz his seeds had sprouted.

yeah.. it happens.. just means that the seeds got knocked outta the food tray and got water on them.. funny story- it happened to me when i was filling up my hammys water bottle and her food was on the ledge of the counter and they fell... into the sink drain. A couple days later there were tiny plants coming outta my sink!! but any ways its not bad for them. Some people even have little Tupperware filled with dirt and food sprouted hammy seeds in their hammys cage for them to nibble on!

it isn't weird it is just the seeds from the food growing cause they got damp. its normal i had the same problem so i moved they food away from the water and damp places. i also knocked the food dish in the sink in the kichen when i was refilling it and in a few days little plants grew it was strange but normal.
