1. Put a certain number of sunflower seeds in each rood of your house, making sure your dogs can not get to them. Leave the seeds overnight and check each pile to see if any are gone the next morning. This will show you which room the hamster has been in.

2. Put a bucket, do not use a gallon ice cream bucket because hamsters can climb out of those, at least two or three feet high with smooth sides and no ridges, on the floor in the middle of the room where the hamster has eaten the seeds. Next take some books and make some stairs that a hamster can get up, make sure the edge of the trap is something that once the hamster gets to the edge, it will fall in and once inside it can not use the item to get out. Next take a food item, like wheat bread and put smalll pieces all the way up to the trap and a piece on the little ledge. Check the trap daily.

3. At night put the dogs outside, or out of the way, then turn off all of the lights, and anything else that make noise and listen. You should be able to hear the hamster, as they are nocturnal. They make some scartching noises and chewing sound. Make sure that you have at least two people doing this.

4. Check you home for any holes in the furniture, wall or anywhere a hamster could get into. Also check for anything that may be harmful to the hamster and pick it up.

5. Take a flashlight and look into the furniture , closet, etc.;carefully; and anywhere that might look like a good hiding place for a hamster.Make sure you check any buckets, or other overturned continers to see if it fell into one of those. Remeber that a hamster is extremely curious and loves to explore, so chances are it will not return to its cage on its own. Also listen for the wheel in its cage at nights, because that will tell you if it has gone back to its cage.

the hamster will probably survive on crumbs around the house so there will be no need for him to eat food. try looking for him at night when its dark and dont make too much noise. look in really small spaces. if you stiil havnt found the hamster get a bucket and put some penut butter in the bottom. then get some mini ladders (hamster ladders or budgie ones) and put them on the outside of the bucket. the hamster should climb up go in the bucket to eat the penut butter and cant get back out. hope this helps. hope you find it x

take a tub about one foot deep and put bedding in it then take a peice of card board and use it as a ramp cover it with penut butter and put food in the tub your friend's hamster is problay hungry and scared so he will go on the ramp into the tub and eat the food then will probaly sleep in it leave it over night though
