Please answer seriouslyIf my hamster chews on toilet paper rolls can it hurt him if he chews on it2007-11-24 22:14:33

I want to make sure before I give him it. I read that the glues on the toilet paper roll can be dangerous. ( i am talking about the cardboard)

it wont hurt him, i've given toilet paper rolls to my hamsters lots of times and nothing happened to them. it's actually good for their teeth cuz it helps shorten them.

No it is safe and a cheap toy for him to use. You can even stuff treats in them. They are also great for stuffing with alfalfa for rabbits.

Geez, I never thought about that before...I have paper tubes in my hamster cage all the time because he LOVES to run in and out of them. The cardboard itself has never been a problem, but now you have me wondering about the bonding agent.

I used toilet paper to put it in its little house, they used to chew it to reduce the size of the paper but they never ate it...!

no, it won't hurt it at all. The hampster chews on objects to wear down its teeth and fight boredom. without it thier teeth can become too long and grow into thier brain, killing them. Toilet paper rolls are made mainly of paper, which is also harmless to injest as long as there is no ink on it.

Well after a little searcharoonie (all ready thinking i knew the answer, just to back it up) i found this...
