Potty Litter works withgerbils
Lol, another gerbil question from me. Also, there's a rodent section for questions -- huzzah!
On Amazon.com, I found this "Super Pet Potty Litter", and it says that it works with both hamsters and gerbils. I've heard of hamsters being potty-trained, but gerbils? It totally surprised me. Here's the link to it: http://www.amazon.com/super-pet-potty-li...
In the product description, it says ""Super Pet's specially formulated Potty Litter is the perfect litter for use inside your Hamster Potty, CritterTrail Outhouse or Little John Litter Pan. Potty Litter is made from a safe all natural litter that is perfect for hamsters and gerbils. Potty Training your pet is "E-Z" when you take advantage of your small animal's natural instinct to eliminate in one area of their home."
Notice it also said gerbils.
How do you potty train your gerbil?
Answers:Place its new litter box in the spot where your gerbil usually does his/her business. Place a few of its droppings in the box. Voila!
The litter is really unnecessary.
All animals usually pick one spot and stick to it. Caged animals, that is. They move it around every time you clean the cage, to. Its just to maximize clean space. No animal likes to go where it sleeps.
my hamster did it on his own but the other one needed alittle help so I just cleaned his cage out-all new bedding with no poop, and then I picked some poop out of his old litter and I put it in the outhouse on top of the litter and it worked...its not really necessary but its fun and who doesn't think it's cool to have a potty trained gerbil or hammie?! good luck, a gerbil shouldn't be much harder to train than a hammie
