I have two dwarf hamsters. They are both white w/ a gray face and a gray stripe down their back. They are siblings. Their mom is white and their dad is brown. One is a girl (I think) and is pregnant (I think). The other is a boy. What are the chances of my girl hamster having a brown baby if she is pregnant?
Answers:it is all genetics. I am not sure what the dominant color of hamsters are, but if she and her mate are carriers there is a large chance of getting one even if it is recessive! This may be helpful.

they will all probably be different colors because the grandparents also affect the baby's coloring, but the chances are pretty good of at least one brown one
well first of all, you should've never breeded siblings. you have a higher risk of birth defects, and having mentally challenged hamsters. you hamster babies won't live as long, or they might not live at all. you have a very slim chance of getting a brown hamster, but hey, you never know. good luck, your going to need it.
You said that they are brother and sister.the babies will probably be find but could end up messed up because they are related...if that is what you meant. The chances are pretty high for you to have at least one brown baby since most litters are around 7 or eight but can usuallt get up to 14. If your hamster has a lot. Do not be alarmed if she kills a few. The main reason why she would do this is to make the litter a size she can handle or the babies may be sick and she doesn,t want them to sufrfer so she kills them off...sad huh? Don't touch them or the mom for at least two weeks!! My Russian Dwarf Hamster had babies the day after I brought her and another home from the pet store, but she only had three (thank goodness!) and they are 15 days old. Make SURE that you remove the male from the cage as soon as she is pregnant or to be safe you could do it now. Later you can seperate the boys with him and girls with her when they are 4 weeks old to prevent mating.
