I have two dwarf hamsters. They are white. One is a girl and is pregnant (I think) and the other is a boy. (Same cage) They are siblings and their mom is white and their dad is brown. Their mom and dad are siblings and the babies don't have any birth defects or mental problems. The mom usually has one to two brown babies in each litter. What are the chances of my hamsters having brown babies?
Answers:The pregnant hamster will not have a brown colored baby, the baby will be white. The baby hamster cannot be brown if both parents are white.
This sounds like a math probability question and it hurts my brain.
I'd have to know the gene sequences of the hamsters, what the prominent gene is and which is recessive.
So .. for now, I'm going to say 50%.
there is probably 62% chance of it being brown i think but i have a hamster who is a boy and he is a winter white dwarf.
