Question about guinea pigs2007-11-24 22:14:41

How can I make sure my guinea pig has a super long life. Like as long as 9-10 years. I have had two guinea pigs and they only lived for about 4-5 years. I love shadow and I'd love for him to live a long life. Please put details. Thanx!

play with it let it excersise,feed it carrots and healthly fruits and give it attention. make sure it has a clean cage too.

Make sure he has a big cage (maybe 8 sq ft for 1 guineapig) and it gets cleaned quite often..also play with him lots and give him lots of fresh veggies

I also have a guinea pig. Here are some tips to keep it healthy. Feed it lots of timothy hay, give it a lot of foods with vitamin C, play with it, give it exersize, take it to the vet at least 1 time a year to get a check up, clean its cage, and love it. Most guinea pigs dont live up to 10 years but following those tips will help it live for a long time!!

Sorry but guinea pigs only live for up to 8 years and that is very rare. You should breed a couple of them and raise them carefully. That should make them live a little longer.

if it is still young give it a big cage and let it run around out side or sum place alot, then as it gets older let them relax more and feed them really healthy foods, that's wut i did and mine lived for 7 years

guinea pigs can get almost every disease humans can, but they have little features which makes it harder to fight the sickness off. u need to give it LOTS of vitamin c, carrots, vitamins, all these r very important, all vitamins r needed in their diet, xcept d, they got enough of that when they were young. make sure u play w/ him alot 2, they need lots of xercise!
