hi i have another questioni am thinking of getting a rat but i want a haster also is there away to keep two hamasters in the same cage with out fighting and if not can i keep 2 rats in the same cage

Answers:

i don't no about hamsters, but i do no that rats love to be with there Owen kind. i have 2 rats and they do every thing together, they are like sisters. just make shore that when u go to get your rats that u get both rats at the same time at the same place so that the rats will already know 1 another.

listen to a person that has 2 rats at this very moment. THEY DO NOT TRY TO KILL EACH OTHER!!!

You have a good chance if they are young. Get two babies that are the same gender if you don't want to have to find 10 homes every 3 months.
no you can not
You can keep 2 dwarf hamster in the same cage but any other kinds will fight to the death. Rats can be kept in the same cage with no problems as long as you don't get a male and female, they will have allot of babies in a short amount of time.
A male and female hamster will get along, until she gets pregnant. Then she will attack the male and you will have to separate them. If he lives. I had a female actually kill a male when she had babies. When I got home it was too late.

Never had rats but they are probably the same.

I can garuntee you that 2 hamsters will be disaster. I used to own to hamsters and they would constantly fight so we had to buy a second cage. I'm not sure about rats because I have never owned them but I'm guessing that would be the same thing. Good Luck and happy pet shopping :D
Two females rats generally get along very well together. Rats are sociable, and like to have companionship. Two males together, however, will probably fight. And of course a male and a female will reproduce uncontrollably.
Two male adult hamsters will NEVER EVER work, unless they have been together their entire lives, and even then it's REALLY risky. Two femals sometimes will work out, especially if they are young and were together their whole lives. Rats MAY work, but i doubt it unless they are neutered/spayed.
Syrian hamsters are naturally solitary animals so should be kept on their own.
