Questions about hamster caves2007-11-24 22:14:20

Friday, I got a Siberian Dwarf Hamster. I have a few questions about making some caves for him in his cage.

I have some old peanut butter cans, jelly jars, etc... would he like those as caves? He loves the toilet paper tube but all he has besides that is a very comfy nest, a wheel, and a bottle of water, so i want to give him some more cavey type things. Also, please see my 2 other hamster questions. Thanks to everyone who answers my questions because it really helps me learn more about hamsters!

Popcorn box, Tissue box, poptart box... Maybe cereal box. just any box you can find that will fit will work, or you could purchase a little wooden hamster house.

as long as its plastic, peanut butter cans, ect is a great way to give your hamster another place to hide. but be sure to keep it extra clean, because you will find out when cleaning that if you sniff inside of that peanut butter can when is dirty, it will smell BAD of collected dirty nesting material, and keeping it like that would be uncomfortable for ANY creature to use.

You could easily convert tissue boxes into a little home and chew toy for a hamster.
