does anyone think it would be okay to introduce my guinea pig and my rat?

i dont think anything will happen im just nervous for some reason.

also, can rats eat fruit and vegetables?

Answers:

Rats love fruits and vegetables and even meat. They are omnivores which is a simple way of sayig that they will eat anything meat or vegeatables. Mine like canned or frozen vegetables. Fresh are good for them too. A favorite with my rats is apple slices. Although my one spoiled girl eats everything and then leaves the apple peel. Rats enjoy cereal dry peices of cheerios are a good choice and they look so cute eating them.

As far as the guinea pigs rats can be aggressive towards newcomers.Rats and piggis shouldn't be housed together but you can see if they get along. Some rats are gentler than other. I also suggest feeding crickets and mealworms from the petshop. Rats eat these in the wild and all mine love them.It gives them a chance to hunt them and they have fun. Don't feed wild insects as they may contain parasites. Another cricket bonus they are usally a dollar for about a dozen and that will last a while for one or two rats.

i tried and my guinea pig wanted to chew off my rats fingers ( i kept them far apart to c their enitial reactions to eachother and it wasnt what i hoped for)

When I introduced my rat to my guinea pig it tried to bite and trust me I never been bitten but rats have very strong teeth and can hurt other animals.And yes they love vegetables.

Try them together to see how they react to each other. If there is a problem, then separate them again. Keep doing it and they may begin to accept each other. Just watch them VERY closely each time you put them together. Rats can eat almost anything. And are fun to watch with different foods.

I wouldn't reccommend a guinea pig with a rat.

But I did see 4 Guinea pigs with 4 Japanese Quail in a aviary with 2 Ring-Neck Parakeets
