How much would it cost for 2 rats(From breeder),toy.,cage ect..

Answers:

It really depends on the breeder and the type of rat...

If you just get a regular fancy rat, it will be cheapest...

Dumbos, Blues, Doves, Hairless and other more "exotic" breeds are going to be more expensive.

Most of the time you end up paying around $10 for each rat...

Keep in mind...rats are social so you will want to get 2 or 3 same sex cages mates...

The cages also depend on what you get...

Rats enjoy to climb so, you should get a cage with levels...

They are also great chewers and escape artists...so the cage should be metal and wire...

The wires need to be very closely spaced...if the rat can fit their head between the wires...they can get out...EASILY!!

The best cage I have found is from PetSmart...

It's a 3 level cage, red metal bottom with white wire..It's around $100..but well worth it...

It lasts for years, gives your rats plently of exercise space, and I've NEVER had a rat escape it...

For food...you want a rat/mouse formulated diet...

I use Nutraphase food...all of my rats love it...it's about $8 for a 10 lb bag, which will last 2 or 3 rats about 3 weeks or so...

Treats...you can buy treats from the store...for $2 a bag or so...and they last pretty long, but you can also just give them fresh fruits and veggies as treats...along with peices of dog food...
