Rabbit edible greens2007-11-24 22:14:22

I'm looking for a list of edible greens safe to feed a rabbit.

Answers:

SAFE to feed:

- Dandelion Leaves

*Make sure the leaves don鈥檛 have bites and red spots on them.

-Parsley

-Romaine luttuce

*romaine lettuce is safe to feed, but NOT iceberg lettuce. Iceberg lettuce has a light coloration, and romaine lettuce is dark.

-Thornless Bramble

*my rabbits especially enjoy the younger leaves. If you don鈥檛 have thornless bramble, you can de-thorn regular bramble. Make sure that you remove EVERY thorn. Rabbits can also be fed the blackberries from this plant.

-Clover

-Chickweed

-Shepherd鈥檚 purse

-Grass clippings

*I鈥檓 pretty sure you know what these look like, so I don鈥檛 think I need to provide a link. Just make sure that the grass is fresh, and that there are no unknown plants mixed in with the clippings.

These are some plants that are POISONOUS, and should NOT feed your rabbit:

- Buttercup

-Hemlock
