Rabbits and Guinea Pigs

Rabbits and Guinea Pigs2007-11-24 22:14:43

Do they get along okay?

Answers:

You should never house guinea pigs and rabbits in the same enclosure. They both eat different foods, and have different personalities. It is very possible for the rabbit to kick the guinea pig, and injure it severely. They may get along okay, but you should never leave them unsupervised.

No, they do not. Guinea pigs are "herd animals" they live together because it is convenient and safe, rabbits are "family animals" they live together because they like the company, a loving rabbit will get on a guinea pigs nerves when it continually tries to groom it's buddy. Also, a rabbits incredibly strong hindlegs may hurt or kill a guinea pig without meaning to while playing or if they are sleeping together and the rabbit gets startled.
yes when i got my rabbit she was housed with 3 guinea pigs and it was cute how they slept next to each other but rabbits kick so it can hurt the guinea pig in many ways other than that they are good
They do 'get along' BUT it is not a good idea to let them go together.

One accidental kick of a rabbit can severely injure or kill a guinea pig.
