Rascal and his love for his sleeping tunnel2007-11-24 22:14:44

Looking for a real answer so please no silly ones. I have had Rascal since Feb he has had this Strawberry dome cave in his cage since he came home and he sleeps in it everyday, however, he comes out very sweaty and I am afraid this is not healthy for him any longer. I have tried to remove it but he freaks out and will not go back to sleep unless he can go in it. Is there any way I can take this thing out with out him being too upset and get him use to with out it or am I being weird and just let it be.

I would take it out and try to replace it with something similar. If that is not possible I would take it for a bit and drill some holes in it if possible!

if he likes it a lot i wouldn't stress him but i would take it one day while cleaning him and drill little holes so more air can get in a cool him off ( i had to do something like that for my hamster she loved her tubes and slept in them but she always came out soaked from sweat so i drilled hole in it and after that she was just a little sweaty but not like before and she didn't even notice the change
