Rat-Friendly Airlines
Does anyone know an airline that allows rats in the U.S.? I am eager to take my beloved Rats to show!
Answers:It all depends on the particular flight...
You have to call the airline and ask them about it...
Ask if they have any flights going out that will allow a carry-on pet..
You have to get a carry bag for them, just like you do for little dogs...
If they will not allow them as a carry-on, ask them about their bellow deck proceedures...Many airlines will not allow them on the passanger deck, for many reasons, but they sometimes have a pet area below deck, they have flight attendants stay down there to take care of the pets on the flight...
You have to put them in a hard carrier, with detailed care instructions attached to it..
If the flight is going to be more than 2 hours, your rats are not going to have a pleasent time at all, so you may want to consider a show thats going to be much closer to your home, maybe one that you would be able to drive to...
Other than that, you just have to call around and ask for specifics...
I hope this helps...GOOD LUCK!!
You should really look on an airline website!
no airline will allow them on as carry-on baggage so i might think twice about taking them since they will have to go in the cargo compartment with the other animals. phone the airlines that fly out of your local airport and ask them if they will fly rats.
I don't show rats, and I live in Australia, but I do know that, if you find an airline that is willing to fly rats (in a specially pressurized compartment for animals) they will be perfectly fine.
