"my life has gone to the rats"
It could be that the older one is playing mommy rat. My rat used to do that all the time, very cute. It is just that hairless rats get scratched easier. You should keep the older rats toe nails clipped. I bet that would solve that problem. Actually the same exact thing happened with my rats. My hairless rats name was Mr.Wrinkles.
take the house out, it causing a territorial/dominance dispute, older rat is saying im the boss and i will say where and when you can go anywhere
remove it, add two food bowls two, water bottles, plenty of hammocks, tissue boxes[ leave the tissues in for xtra fun] and tubes and problem solved. dont remove either rat or intros will have to start again from scratch[no pun intended]
i have a naked rat amongst my group of 11, Baldrick is always covered in scratches - reason? - he has no fur! and when the rats pile up together in hammocks or tubes, or walk over each other, the others are protected by fur and hes not, their scratches dont show.
hairless rats really dont get mites and lice as thay have no hair for them to cling to so its unlikely to be that, HOWEVER keep an eye out! mites come in many forms some under the skin, although i can pretty much guarantee that the scratches are caused by the same as i have described above
