Sorry and I hope your rat gets better,
well i am very sorry about what is going on with your rat, but rats only live for aboput 2-3 yrs and if he is close to that age then the best thing to do is to have him humanly put to sleep. i breed rats and i just ahs to do this with one of my females to sleep because of old age. how long have you had your rattie? if it has been more then 2 yrs then he is showing signs of old age. it is hard especially if you have had him from a rat pup(5weeks old), but that is the truth about rats. sometimes they can live past 3yrs and be very healthy but when you get one that you have to keep taking to the vet for other reasons then that is a sign that they will not live much longer 3yrs and if they do they will start to die very slowly. i am sorry to tell you this but that is the life of a rat. i breed rats and every so often i get one that is dieing of old age and then i will take to the vet to have put down so they don't suffer anymore. the longer you wait the more painful it is for your pet. i know you love him and he knows that to but right now there is nothing you can do for him. again i am very sorry for what you are going through and i hope i gave you some good info about your situation.
most likely ur rat is ding sad i know rats or one of the coolest animals out there.sadly rats only live for like 5 years they dont live all that long.the are also pron to tumors so yet another health issue.may i suggest you love that lovely creator and spend as much time with him as u can.deeply sorry
it is probably getting old and getting ready to pass away but don't spend your mom's money on helping him he is obviously in pain it would be better if you spent your mom's money on euthanizing it I'm really sorry sweetie but it would be better the next pet you get have a longer life span so it doesn't make you so sad because i know it hasn't been that long but please hunny don't worry it'll be ok very fine you won't know it happened
hard but rats only live like 2 years it may be time to let him go.
