Rat or chinchilla what one would make a better pet
well i am 13, i get $80 a month for aloance, if that helps
so... a chinchilla or a rat?
Answers:i own both, and in my opinion, rats are much more interactive and friendly and seem alot more interested in people when my chinchillas don't like to be pet but did as babies, and mine also hate the confinement of beig held. in petstores, chinchillas are the same way since they aren't handled alot, and if you got a well socialized one as a baby from a good breeder, it would be very expensive. also, proper housing for even one chinchilla will make you broke and will cost WAY more than 80$. above that you have to supply it with entertainment, bath supplies, food, hay, ect
rats on the other hand are way cheaper, are known to be alot more loving as a pet, doesn't need AS much space (when they do benifit from it) and their needs are much simpler. also, since they are social and are best in pairs, it won't cost you as much to buy 2. i would honestly consider these endearing little animals for a pet, especialy since it would be hard for you to afford a chinchilla and still have some money for the things you want.
Well it depends rat would be good if you like more just pet and petting it and stuff chinchilla would cuddle more it do you like more?
A rat, chinchillas are much more expensive, both to buy and for upkeep
I have no experience with chinchillas but i got a rat a couple days ago and all together it was $80 and i got the rat, a fishtank, a metal cage to go on top, food, and bedding. My rat is one of the best pets I've had. And he loves his house. Plus the metal cage on top of it has 3 levels. All of these things can be purchased at Petco.
