should i get a rat or a mouse and should i get it at petco or petsmart?

Answers:

RatS (get more than one) at Petsmart. Petco sells pet mice and rats as well as feeder mice and rats, so they may sell you a feeder as a pet which is not a good idea.

Rats are better because they love attention and like to be touched. Mice on the other hand are a little more skittish and like to do their own thing. Mice also have a distinct odor that rats don't.

To eat??-I prefer mouse,much more tender. Recommend petsmart-fresher meat.

Rat cause you can see it better if it gets out of the cage, you should get it at petsmart it sounds much smarter.

Get a rat, they are far more intelligent than mice. They make really good pets and are far more entertaining!

Im in the UK so havent heard of petco, but we have petsmart here and they are ok!

rat at petsmart just because i always go to petsmart and they are so helpful and knowlegable and u should get a rat because i heard they are more ammenable to handling and are smart and make great pets.

Well, when my friend got a rat at petsmart, it died, then she got 3 more and they died, so i dont if this will help!! I like mice better, anway, cause i have bad exirpinces, *shivers*

I vote for mice because they are the cutest creatures ever and their fur is soft, and they can easily be tamed. They like to run up people's sleeves and love to be petted. I have bought mice at both Petco and Petsmart, I really don't have a preference of one or the other.

get a rat they are bigger and u can catch faster if gets away, and they are more fun to play with

A rat! They are much more intelligent and interactive with humans than a mouse. Mice, no matter how much they look like mini-rats, aren't very smart and are dirty little vermin. Seriously - we've had both! Only be aware that small rodents do not live long and domestic rats are so inbred that they are prone to cancer and other illnesses. We loved our rates, but they were heart breakers. If you want a pet with a longer lifespan, go for a cat or a parrot.

As for Petco or Petsmart, it depends on the individual store. There's good and bad ones in every city. Avoid rats used for snake food. Maybe someone who has rats needs to place one of the babies in a good home. Look for a healthy, alert rat that likes being held.
