Rat owners
With some rats it can take a lot of time and patience before you start to see an improvement, the key is to be patient and consistent and before long you'll have two very trusting rattie friends.
Hope this helps!
Give them time if they are new. I used to own rats and after they get used to you and the surroundings they wont ever leave you alone. mine would crawl up my arm and just sit on my shoulder while i worked. one of the greatest pets i ever had. fun to play with too.

What has really worked well for most rat-keepers, including myself, is wearing a Hoodie

Both the hood and the front pocket become a secure little cave for the rats to ride in. You wear this around the house, keeping your rats close to you at all times. They learn your warmth, your smell, and therefore you are their security. You can pet them while they are in the pocket...

give them treats
When I first got my fancy rat, Sugar, I let her figure out her cage for about a day. They I gradually put my hand into her cage (ssslllooowwwlllyyy no sudden movements) with a treat (an apple) and she came right up, snached the apple and let me pet her. Now I can pick her up etc. but she's a senior rat now, so shes sleeps, eats, drinks and sleeps (LOL).
what my brother did was get his rat in the ball and the he brought her in MY ROOM WALL I WAS SLEEPING and put the ball on my bed and opened it up and she climbed out and we had to try and grab her before she took off and the my rat CC realized Oreo was gone and i tried to get her and i had a little of a hard time and i got her out and it took about four days to a week to them coming of their tank by us grabbing them. so i would maybe put a treat on your hand or something or if you have a tube when they are in there maybe put it one you or the couch or something
When I got my Rat, I couldn't hold her But I used gloves, The soft ski type ones and sparyed them with apple jucie she loves apples, I can hold her now, But She still gets scared sometimes if I walk to fast with her and bites me But she is very gental otherwise, try gloves with something your rat will like on them, and leave the gloves in their cage so they get used to them.
stuff them under your sweat shirt. it's warm and dark which will make them feel safe and get them used to your scent. make sure to feed them treats.
