You're probably going to get an answer from someone who pushes Petfinder. Petfinder has it's pros and cons. The website is difficult to navigate, asking for too much precise info, which, if you can't provide it, you get nowhere. If you don't live in the US you can't use it. Needless to say, I can't use it. True, some of the rescuers from the Ratster use Petfinder as a source to advertize their rats that need to be rehomed, but some sellers also "puppy mill" their rats and need a place to support their mass breeding. Petfinder does not discriminate. Also, there is no health or temperament guarantee for the rats from Petfinder that you can get from going directly to a breeder.
