i have had many hamsters , but i am getting one soon, i haven't had one in 1 year and my last one that pasted away i got it when it was 2 weeks, i do not want one that's older than 1 month becasue of bonding situations. and does anyone know of a pet store or breeder in the boone,NC -trade,TN area?

thanks,

Answers:

I've owned quite a few hammies in my life time (currently a European and a Sib. Dwarf which I bought at Petco...in the past 7 teddybears and 3 fancies from petland) from my personal experiences (over a course of many years four petco's and three petlands in two separate states) what I can tell you is this: petco may cost you $15-$20 for a dwarf whereas petland only costs $5-$10 and that's for a reason: petland pets, especially hamsters are not very well cared for and as a result do not live long...if you go to petco you will see that the cage setups are more appropriate for the breed and that the workers are more knowledgeable on hamster care it is worth the extra money to buy a hamster that will live longer and be healthier...don't go with petland

oh, and if you can check http://www.petfinder.com like the above stated: they have hamsters of ALL AGES AND ALL BREEDS who are all in need of a good home where they can be loved and a part of the family!

I just did a search on hamsters with my area code and the third thing to pop up were these cute baby dwarf hammies!
