Rusty cage
if u looked at my other question i am asking about a hamster cage and i was thinking of painting over the rusy with arcrilice paint
Answers:I don't think paint is such a good idea because it can chip off when chewed on by your hamster. If it's toxic it could be lethal. The best thing to do is to get another cage. If this isn't possible, use sand paper to sand off the rust before you coat the cage with a non-toxic rust protection oil or paint.
There must be a paint that is non-toxic to hamsters becuase a lot of cages (like the habitrail) have painted bars.
I wouldn't do it. The paint could toxic to your furry little friend. I saw your other question, and, my friend asnwered it (pethelper4). Also, I aggree with my friend (pethelper4). You should buy another cage. Just so that you know for sure that your hamster is safe.
It should be okay just find a spare cage that is not being used and let the freshly painted cage air out for 2-4 days.
just do wat i did...
i never bought metal cages...in fact.i bought a fish tank, about 20 gallons....and asked if i could just get a cage top, and they'll take back the filter and everyting. and then just fill it with all hamter stuff...plus there's more room
