Should I get a Hamster or a Guinea Pig
Ok, I'm 14 years old turning 15 in december and I want a animal that doesnt stink, I want to play and be attached with it, I don't want it to bite, dont want it to make too much of a mess, and I only really want to have 1.
Answers:I have both! Here are the disadvantages and the advantages of both pets:
Guinea pigs, disadvantages:
Guinea pigs (mostely males), really can get stinky. So, spot cleaning their cage every other day, is VERY important for a guinea pigs heath!
Guinea pigs are expensive. Don't forget vet bills, cage bills, and other bills that can reach over $50!
There aren't many toys made for guinea pigs at pet stores. So, you can't get any fun toys for guinea pigs, but, you can usually make a lot of fun toys!
Guinea Pig Advantages:
They are social. Guinea pigs are very social animals. Though many people say that they that should live in pairs, many are fine living by themselves!
Squeeking! Guinea pigs are VERY cute when they "talk" or squeek!
They don't bite. Unlike hamsters, guinea pigs don't seem to bite that much!
Guinea pigs are MUCH easier to handle then hamsters.
Guinea pigs can make you happy on a sad day. IT"S TRUE! Just talking to your guinea pig on a sad day, can really turn that big frown, up side down!
Hamsters, disadvantages:
Hamster bite A LOT! This is true. The bites can hurt bad too!
Hamster sleep ALL DAY! So, you can't really play with them, unless you wake them up.
