Should I give my hamster a little chocolate2007-11-24 22:15:02
I've heard no and I've heard yes on different websites, I need other peoples opinions badly
Answers:Not a good idea. And if it's even iffy, why risk it?? there's plenty of safe and healthy food out there for hamsters, so it shouldn't even be an issue.
Plus, who wants to share their chocolate anyway??
I wouldn't recommend it to a hamster.
no it can hurt their ammune system and cause him to get sick and he could die
chocolate should never be fed, it is full of sugar and cow's milk, and can cause problems, even if fed in small amounts. Instead, feed a healthy treat like a sunflower seed or a bit of brazil nut.
if it likes suger ask it
Chocholate really isn't good for animals. Just watch him/her, and if you notice seizures or vomiting, consult a vet. Good luck! and I would only give it to him/her every once in a while.
i wouldnt i ahve a hammy and i heard never give them chocolate
No chocolate is harmful to hamsters. The caffine and sugar is what's bad for them. If you are looking for a treat try a fresh veggie or fruit if not a dwarf hamster (no fruit for dwarfs).
