Should I let my hamster Flapjaks get a tan
My hamster Flapjaks likes being out in the sun, but it can't be good for him! How do I keep him in the dark?
Answers:I would say keep Him in his cage only let Him out when You can keep a good watch on Him, I don't think a lot of sun is good for Him. I love Hamsters, Males are the best, they are loveable and sweet, I am a Vietnam era Marine corp. vet, so don't get any Ideas about Me, LOL.
Let Flapjaks get a bit of sun. A few minutes a day can't be that bad.
Hamsters are usually nocturnal so it's odd but as long as he isn't left out in direct sunlight with no shade he should be fine.
hamsters are rats which are usually outside
get a few square feet of grass and line a cage with it while leaving half lined with newspaper
then keep the cage outside
and if he wants to go outside he can choose weather or not he wants to get sun
if he gets uncomfortable he will go in the grass
I would think his fur would protect him from UV rays. I've never heard of a dog that is outside all the time getting skin cancer.
I doesn't matter and they cant get a tan but they can get over heated and that may kill him/her you can keep him in the sun a little bit but not to long try keeping him in the shade :)
See if WalMart has hamster sun-block and maybe a little hat.
Hamsters can't tan because of their fur. But they can get heat stroke ! So please be careful.
Hamsters are nocturnal. They evolved in a desert, so they sleep all day (and in the wild, underground) to avoid the sun and the heat. We take our hamsters outside occasionally to let them root around in the garden, but never in the bright sunlight, only in the shade. And we never take our hamsters out for long periods of time.
Don't stress about keeping your hamster in the dark, instead just make sure that your hammy is not in direct sunlight and has lots of water.
hmmmm go buy one of those hamster balls where they can move all around and put it in the yard and let himdo his thing ... haha oh wait, the plastic and sun might over heat and kill him ... oh well at least i got my points for answering this lame question . thanks!
a few minutes yes, but avoid direct sunlight and heat.
Do not get him overheated, a few minutes on your lap is enough!
