Should i breed hamsters
No way! There are so many poor hamsters without homes, mainly because of overpopulation. Please reconsider, and try adopting from shelters instead.
no. they breed FAST! and I mean very fast!
Only if you're willing to take care of all the babies, feed them, and have space enough for all of them once they're grown.
If You Want To.
You Must Be Prepared eg. Have 4 Serparet Cages.
1- For Male Hamster
1- Female Hamster
1- Young Female
1-Young Males
Research Research and Research...
You can Never not Know Enough.
Remeber Females Become Fertile at 14 mounths
And Don't Start To Breed Until 3-4 months Old!
And Buy The Male and Female Hamster From Different Pet Shops Because Chances Are There From The Same Litter! And Brother And Sister Won't Breed!
Just Be Careful And Know What Your Doing Because If It Goes Wrong Then Your Screwed! =]
And If Your Planning On Making a Living Out Of This Then I Would Think Again. Your More Likly To Lose Money Than Gain It.
Well Byeeeeee Good Luck
Why? There are so many Hamsters already. Besides people buy them to feed their snake, I don't want any of my 'Fur Friends' to end up as food, even if hey are the off spring of one of my hamsters.
I talked to a man who though that the people who stand in front of 'stores' to find..'REALLY...REALLY GOOD HOMES' for their kittens or puppies if they are small enough. By taking a kitten/puppie 'TO A 'REALLY' GOOD HOME' hes saving money instead of buying mice or rats or whatever...TO FEED HIS SNAKE!!...SAD ISN'T IT
no there are a lot of hamsters in shelters. also where would u get the hamsters from. do u know how clean their blood lines are back at least 2 or 3 generations. how would u know what genes are being passed on or if ur hamsters are more likely to get desiese than other hamsters. if u didnt consider that then dont breed. if u think it will be fun or u want to see the miricle of life or u want to see baby hamsters dont breed. baby hamsters arnt that cute. we got a 'male' hamster from the pet store that had babies 2 weeks later (we did not want hamster babies). they are pink furless and a little smaller than ur thumb. eyes are also closed. we had a litter of 9 and 5 died. we gave one away to a close family friend and me and each of my sisters got one (in seperate cages or elese they would have fought/reproduced). if u want to breed to get more hamsters for urself then please check ur local shelter because those hamsters really need u. there are alredy so many irrisponsible breeders who dont know what their doing out there so please dont become one of them.
