Should i buy a hamster for during the summer2007-11-24 22:15:20

i am going on a trip should i wait till after or take it with im going to the bahamas i live in vegas

I totally agree with everyone else.wait until after your trip, and even then really ask yourself if a hamster is the right pet for you. Even though they're small they require just as much care and commitment as a larger pet...plus they're nocturnal, so you won't see them during the day, and when they're asleep in the daytime they need to be in a quiet place...no loud TV, music, etc, and no cigarette smoke, etc. Otherwise their health will suffer.

Also they don't really like being fussed with. If you want a pet to play with and pick up, there are other kinds that are more suitable.rats, rabbits, ferrets, etc.

And if you're always on the go and travelling alot, it's going to be hard on the hamster to always being cared for by someone else.they like their little routines.

In general, pets are a big responsibility and it's best not to get one without thinking it over first.

u cant take it with you, it is illegal, wait til you return, it will need to see you daily and be handled to be able to tame, and become your buddy..do not get it til you return

hamsters require a lot of care. you have to change their bedding every 2-3 days. and they can go through food and water fast. if you are going to be gone for more than a few days wait.

Don't get it until you return, it will be a hassle to take it on the trip and the heat and airplane ride would not be good for them.

Unless you will have someone to look after it while you are gone, don't get one.
