Should i buy a long cage or a tall cage2007-11-24 22:15:21

i am buying a ferret and i want a good cage is it better to buy it long or tall and does size and age of your ferret matter

I think that its good to have a cage that is both long and tall. My cage is 36 inches long and about 5 and a half feet tall. Having it tall gives them more surface area over all to play in by adding shelves. You can also hang more hammocks in it. I would say 30 inches is probably the shortest length the cage should be. They are kinda long creatures.

Oh, also, make sure when you set up the shelves/ramps in the cage that the ferret can't fall more than 12 inches or else it might hurt its back/legs.

Ferrets like running, so a long one. But some also like to climb I've seen, and you can buy tall and long ones. We actually bought my guinea pig a ferret cage, because she loves to run.

I'd say a tall one! Because ferrets LOVE to jump and run on ramps and stuff! They'd love the exta stories of platforms! But then again, you can get a long and tall one, just like someone said! I think your ferret would like that better!

You should get a wide and long cage because ferrets complain and get aggressive when it comes to their space! I own a ferret first I had a cage the size of a twin size bed and he loved it them I moved on to a small cage the size of a small small dog cage he hated it every night you would hear him trying to bite out of the cage so I would prefer you get a wide and long cage they range from 60.00 and up
