Should i get 2 gerbils or is it ok to just get 12007-11-24 22:15:22

well if i only got one it would stilll have one to play with, baecause my freind and i are getting one each form the same littler, and so they will be palying together alot, but not living together.

if you get two, make sure theyre both girls if theyre ganna be living together. boys wil fight more often over territory. make sure if one dies that u dispose of it fast, because, they eat each other when their dead! yeah this happend to me. then the other got sick, and it died too.

If you do... you better be very very sure they are either both male or both female...If you get one male and one female, you'll have little gerblits all over the place in no time.

Two are always a good choice, because while you're at school or with friends, they can keep eachother company. just be sure they are the same sex.

If you think you only want one, remember you'll be its sole source of companionship.

I dont know about letting your friends gerbil play with yours... they may develop different smells from being in two different households and might become territorial.

mates are best just have a extra cage if they do mate some times they will eat their young.

Gerbils ger VERY bored. They do better in pairs or more. They can become depressed.

And they love to have lots to play with. Im actually trying to rehome my two gerbils.
