Should i get a girl guinea pig or a boy guinea pig
It depends on what you want. Both sexes are equally endearing; however, each pig is an individual with his/her own personality, so I can't say, "Well get a girl because girls do this or don't do that" or "Get a boy because they are more friendly", etc. EVERY pig is different.
There are some very playful sows and some stodgy boars and vice versa. I have one sow that is a hermit in her pigloo and chatters at her two cagemates constantly. This is just her personality. Two of my boars are not very social with me, yet two other boars beg for my attention & keep me laughing with their antics with each other!
I find males to be more active and sows to be more mellow, but this is just MY observation with my own pigs.
A Boy. I had a boy guinea pig and he followed me around everywere and let me hold him. He was great!
But i also had a girl guinea pig and she wouldnt let me hold her and she would bite me all the time. (I also have a friend who has had 2 boy guinea pigs and she loved them)
Hope this helps!
Females can be more aggressive, but I had one and she was the best guinea pig I had. I also had 2 boys and they were more energetic but the two genders are equally affectionate. It also depends on the guinea pig, because they all have different personality's.
Honestly, I liked having a female better, but that's just my opinion. When you see the guinea pig you want, it wont matter what gender it is.
