Should i get a pet mouse
My neighbor got a pet mouse and it is soooo cute. So now i want one. I hear that you can teach them tricks and stuff and how they understand you. But i am afraid that when i take him (or her) out of the cage i will loose him (or her). But i still really want one! What should i do??
Oh ya i also hear they are great companions!
Thanks for answering!!! (That is if you answer! heehee!)
Answers:Mice may be cute and smart but what about their smell. If I were you I would opt for a guinea pig, these are bigger so they aren't as likely to 'slip' out of your hands, they are really cute as you can get so many different breeds (long haired, short haired, cream, black, tortoise shell and white) and they don't smell. They are easy to care for and they live for longer. If you are going to get a mouse and there is nothing that I can say to pursuade you then I suggest that you get a girl. Girls arent as smelly. In regards to you being afraid of him getting out; there is always a chance that this will happen. If you are really scared you can catch her and put her in a play pen where she can't escape so that you can pet her. Remember: Before getting any pet you need to do your research, you need to make sure that you have the right stuff to care for her/him and you need to make an oath to care for her until the day she dies. And HAVE FUN!:)
you probably already have one its probably running around your house right now lol
Mice are cute and smart but I'd opt for a gerbil. I've had mice, gerbils and hamsters and my favorite, hands down have been the gerbils. They are friendly, curious and fun to watch. One thing that makes gerbils, in my opinion, a much better choice than mice is gerbils are "desert" animals and therefore don't drink a lot of water and this in turn causes their urine to be very concentrated and not to smell like that of a mouse. If you do go the gerbil route then try to get 2 from the same litter preferable of the same sex unless you want to be overrun with the litter darlings!!
Rats are the animal you can train. Mice are stupid haha, but I have kept mice for several years and they are so sweet.
Mice are big work if you keep the cage open by acciedent it will run right out and you will have to clean the cage every 2 weeks and make sure that it has a lot of water and fed it every day.
get a rat instead they wont run away if they like you, but if your planning on having a mouse party then get one iv never owned one. do some reserch on them, the more you know, the more they wont die! :3
