Squirrel too scared
Hello. I have a pet squirrel for about 2 and a half weeks now. I read somewhere that you should spend time with it, feed it e.t.c
I did that every day but it's still too scared. It doesn't bite me and allows me to touch it, but when I leave and get back in the room (after some hours) and it is out it goes into hiding at once. Also when I open his cage he gets scared. And he also gets really scared and jumps up whenever he hears any sudden noise, even the closing of his cage door.
What should I do? Is it just too scaredy by nature? How can I get closer to it?

After this time, a few times a day spend several minutes with your pet. In the beginning, sit quietly outside his cage and offer him a treat. With time and patience, even a shy squirrel will respond to a treat within a day or two. At first, feed the treats through the cage, then as your new squirrel becomes more socialized, you can begin reaching inside the cage to hand-feed him.

Squirrels are wild animals. They aren't pets. Let it go.
well squirrel are a nervous nature
but if you keep being quiet and careful
it will warm up to you , I promise
Take him outside in a large cage. Feed him a few days and then open the door. Continue feeding him until he is able to care for himself.
I agree with leaptad you should let it go
I'm sorry but rodents can die of too much fear. This is a natural reaction. They see large animals as predators and that is why it is so scared of everything. Check your phone book, find a rehabilitator, and have it released back into the wild. It is where it belongs because they do not live for very long in captivity.
