Stuff for mice
I will hopefully be getting a bunch of mice at the end of this week. I am just wanting to know the most recommended things. I know what I need, but I just want to know what experienced owners recommend. Also, if you have anything that you would like to sell to me, e mail me at baby_7991@yahoo.com
Thank you!
Answers:Toilet-paper tubes, and paper-towel tubes make excellent, and cheap fun for a mouse. They can use it to hide in, or shred it for bedding. They often chew holes in them to peek out of.
You can also put branches (find some in your yard) in the cage. This gives them a place to climb, and something to chew on as well! Best of all, if the branches start getting too chewed, or otherwise icky (I'm sure you know what I mean), they're easily replaced.
Please remember to separate your new friends by gender. Mice breed every 21-days and can get pregnant again as soon as they've given birth.
Dont use cedar or pine bedding.it hurts their respiritory system.
Try to get all-females. Males fight each other, and co-ed cages = many babies. A female mouse can get pregnant again a day after giving birth.
Get as big a cage as you can, but include lots of hiding places. Make sure the bars are close enough together to keep the mice from escaping. (We had three mice when I was younger. They escaped. Our neighbour's cat got at least one of them; we never saw the other two again.)
