My teddy bear hamster is 5 months old and already knows how to open the door of his cage.What do I do to Keep him in the cage?(He has already escaped 12 times and 5 were during the night!)

Ok my dads hamster did the same thing! They are sooooooo smart!! Get a pipe cleaner around the door opening and around part of the and twist it!

You can get a different cage - what type do you have? Habitrail cages seem to be OK, but the plastic might chip and that would make the "lock" less secure. Another idea is to get a more secure aquarium. Just make sure that there is a screen on top and put something on it, and get one of those funky round water bottles (they can't climb on them).

Syrian hamsters (which includes teddy bears) are born escape artists and if there's a will, they will find a way.

I also have a baby teddy bear to she is also an exscaper to so we bought her a tank with a screen lid and bought some special clips you can buy at miejers and walmart maybe in the dollar store Well mine dont escape anymore try it

If it's the wire type of cage with bars (which it should be) you can use a little bit of wire to tie it shut. Just make sure the ends are always facing out of the cage so it doesn't injure itself on the jagged ends and use quite a short piece in case in comes loose and he gets tangled in it.
