omg. i just got home from the petfactory, and this guy came in when i was there and he asked the owner.. "u got any rats for my kid??!??!" and the guys like "yeh r these good enough??" then the other guy said yes and the owner got a cardboard box, picked one up by his tail and literally THREW him into the box. the rat was like squeaking and i felt SO bad. isnt this messed up?!?!??!?!?! i will never purchase anything at that petstore. they are so mean to the animals. that is so mean huh?

OMG That is so cruel and mean, I would definitely not buy a single thing from that store. I would also tell all my friends, familly. co-workers everyone not shop there, and finally I would write them a letter expressing my concerns for the animals well being. When you write that letter make sure you put in it that you will never buy anything from there again and that you are telling everyone you know not to as well.

When I got my hamster, there was no rough handling or tossing. He just layed the box next to my sleeping hamster and lightly rolled/nudged him into the box. My little guy did not even wake up for a few minutes since the employee was so gentle with him.

I wish every pet shop employee was like that.

I agree with you. They are the same way here where I live. I guess they are like that everywhere then.

That's horrible.

I hate it when pet store employees handle rats like that; I've heard many stories about them being grabbed by their tails and flung like that just because the employee happens to not like rats.
