Plastic ones are quieter than wire ones. Put a wee smear of vaseline on the axle, it works wonders and its non-toxic.

put a little DW40 on the joint of the wheel. this should keep it from making so much noise.

Refashion it inserting some Skateboard bearings , i suggest 'Bones Swiss ceramics' dude.

I have kept many hamsters over the years and had the same problem with noisy wheels! I bought lots of dfferent ones, even fancy flying saucer type creations and they all made loads of noise. I think its just because they are banging on the metal cage. They do make a freestanding wheel which doesnt attach to the cage but mine just fell over constantly.

Is annoying when watching tv and cant hear ir over the noise of the wheel!

I even put my hamster cage in another room some evenings just for the peace!

just oil the hub on the one you have, provided it's the one that came with the cage.

Buy a silent spinner best hamster wheel out there :-)

Im so glad they sell them as i have 2 hamsters *lol* which was quite abit of noise through the night(hard to sleep sometimes)Then i was in pets at home and see a silent spinner,that was the answer :-)
