No you don't have to take it to the vet. Hamsters do get scared when they get hurt to much. Hamsters love attetion by their owners, what you can do is you can ignore your hamster for one or two days. Just make sure it has food and water inside its cage. Then put it to an isolated area. Then after those days you should be able to carry your hamster without any trouble. You will regain its trust by showing you are giving attetion to your hamster. I know its sad when you ignore your hamster but this is the best way to do it.

Hammys can be a little jumpy, is yours a dwarf? those tend to be a little nippy also but they will end up warming up to you. use her hut if you have one to pic her up talk to her in a calm voice and give her a treat a baby carrot or something you know she likes. after a bit she will start warming up to you
