What can I use to keep my hamster from tearing up the carpet in the corners

What can I use to keep my hamster from tearing up the carpet in the corners2007-11-24 22:16:05

My hamster always runs behind furniture and begins to bite and scratch at the carpet in the corners. I can't get to him without moving the whole piece of furniture so it's a huge pain. He causes a lot of damage before I can get to him. Is there anything I can put in the corner that might repel him. I really don't want to take away his free run time. I am a big advocate of letting hamsters have a supervised exploring time in a closed room. Hamsters are highly curious and can become bored easily with cage life. I just need somthing to keep him out of the corners without harming him. Is there any type of natural spray I could use? Thanks

Answers:

Buy him a ball to roam your house in. it will keep him safe and he can still cruise around. I used to put a cheerio or two in mine, so when he stopped he could nibble a snack.

give him saw dust like all the other hamsters
look him in the cage heheheh
im assuming u mean carpet when u let him out of the cage lol. but yes a ball that he can go in... they LOVE them!
a hamster cage!!!!!!!! tha one with tunnels
get it an exercise ball to run in instead.
I have a hamster and my kids put him in a ball and he loves it he runs all around the house with it and i know where he is all the time .
