you know when they twitch and jump, he seems very happy when he does, is it involuntary?
Answers:It happens when you open the fridge mainly. I think it means that they want Watermelon.
It's not healthy for Guinea pigs. It's got too much sodium, and grease in it. Your rodent will be short lived.
mites
I wouldn't necessarily call it involuntary. Its just a trait. Its akin to humans laughing. When we see or hear something that amuses us and our face smiles and a laugh comes out.
When a guinea pig is very happy or excited, this is how he displays his happiness. I find it very cute.
Are you describing it's movements as 'popcorn'? Like because it pops all over the place? I think all rodents do that, I've had a lot of hamsters that did it, too.
Its when they are happy. My baby guiena pig used to do that everytime they'd get fed
Shear happiness makes them jumpy and spaztic. It means they are enjoying something.
It means they are happy.
When they get really excited or happy, they popcorn. SOme pigs are more jumpy than others. It may have something to do with age. As pigs age, they may not popcorn as much or at least not as high as babies do.
Yeah, it's mites. My guinea pig Bart used to do that because he had mites but we got him this spray from petsmart and then he was fine. When you get the spray, he will NOT like it and he will try to crawl up u and he will oink but keep spraying, but NOT ON HIS HEAD!
The pig is communicating with you. The "popcorning" is one of the ways they play!
