What could this be
My hamster has a hard time climbing down and up her tube now, she struggles, she stays in one spot, her stomache is hard , and she has her ears laid back. Usually she is active and playfull and does not have any trouble climbing-drinking-or eating, and when we pick her up and hold her, her stomache gets untense. She is visiting for a couple of weeks, and when she got here is when we saw a difference in her.
Answers:She may have a tumor growing inside of her, if you're saying her stomach is hard.
Get her into the vet as soon as you can.
Small animals can go downhill quickly, and are very good at hiding pain. She may have had something wrong with her for a while, and just hasn't been in enough pain to show it yet.
It could be your period.
I think your hampster is ill. Try changing its food.
She may be sick.Take her to the vet to see what's wrong.
It could be the difference in the environment, or the smells of the house.
If it's not that then it might be old age- how old is she? Most small rodents get old around 2 years of age, so maybe tubes aren't the best thing for her to use.
Also, it may be that the tubes in her house (im assuming they are plastic) might be low on oxiygene, seeing as they dont allow air to pass freely through the sides, and this may be bad for her if she has another condition.
Try taking her to the vet, just in case
