Go to Wal-mart and in their pet department they have hamsteer food that they sale by the bag. Some is like $3.00 to $7.00. I had fourteen hamsters at one time and a big bag would last me like 3 weeks.

well i own a hamster and you can get $5 bags of all this stuff from pet stores and its healthy for them and they love it .

Treat wise they like carrots, them lil baby carrots work great.

cheerio's too.

Feed them skin of fruits and leftover food. My hamster always looks so expectantly when I eat anything, it's squeaking "Feed me! Feed me!" I feed mine mango skin and it died that very day.

buy a bag of hamster food at target or petsmart, and for treats carrots, apples, strawberries, celery, broken up dog biscuits for the teeth, hardboiled egg pieces, cheerios, all in small pieces, and easy on the fresh food, it gives them the poops, a bag of hamster food is about $5-6 and lasts along time.

I initially thought making my own hamster food from supermarket stuff would be cheaper, but in the end it turned out to be MUCH more expensive. $5 bag of hamster food from the pet store will last you a VERY long time, and your hamster will be much healthier than if you feed it anything else!
