seriously heres a fantastic diet for all rats, remember like us, rats are omnivores and like us they like things that arent particularly good for them like pizza, burgers, donuts etc which should be strictly once a month small amount treat food [again like us really]

depending where in the world you are

which gives a complete varied diet including all vits and minerals without being boring

rats over the age of 6-8 months shouldnt have too much extra protein in their diet otherwise they could have kidney problems

but they should have a varied diet consisting of 80% dry and 20% fresh every day

heres a selection of fruit, beans and veggies that i use and have found to be safe for rats [please note where it says cooked/uncooked/instructions]

Aduki beans

Apple (pips removed)

Apricots (no stone)

Asparagus

Aubergine (eggplant)

Avocado (flesh only, no skin or stone) not too much over 6 months, liberally before

B

Bamboo shoots frsh frozen or tinned in water

Banana not to much after 6 months liberally before

Beans [ varied - kidney, black eyed, borlotti, haricot etc etc] tinned in water[not brine] or cooked STRICTLY according to the packet instructions
