What is a good design for a rabbit hutch2007-11-24 22:17:29

My rabbit has gotten bigger than expected and his wooden hutch is stained (he's not nutered). Does anyone one know a good design I can use to build a new one?

Answers:

This hutch is about 3x6 ft

Frame a 3x6 foot cube on 4 sides with wire-leave the top open unless you want to put hanging toys in it then put wire on the top too. Cover the roof with sheet tin. Put hinges on 1 (3ft) side so the whole side would be a door. On the 6 ft side make a smaller door. Build a small box, all wood, and cut a whole in it for the door. Make the top so you can open it and clean it.

go to The Wooden Garden.com they have some of the coolest hutches
Have you thought about bringing your bun inside? Wire floors are uncomfortable for bunny's feet! Plus outside, even in a hutch, your rabbit is not 100% protected. Your bun can easily be litter trained just like a cat. They make excellent pets.
