Most rats don't like running balls. They've got bad eyesight and good smell, and can't smell through the balls. Mine like bird toys to climb and chew on (they hang from the roof of the cage). Wood blocks to carry around and chew, and actually cat toys, too. The kind with bells in it and the small stuffed kind with feathers.

Paper rolls, THEY LOVE THOSE! you can even buy a hammok for them they love sleeping in that aswell. but most of all if you really want them to have fun get them cardboard to chew on ... but never bleached paper!

Running balls ARE NOT good toys for rats. They're tail can get caught in the little air cracks and break off. The rat's tail is vital to keep his body temperature at the right level. Good toys? I got my rat a special made wheel for rats with out the little cracks.

Her favorite toy is a little carrot toy for Docoters Foster&Smith, with little balls in it. In makes a noise like a rattle, and everytime I shake it she'll come over to take it and shake it herself.Its funny and fun for her.
