What is a good way to get rid of gerbils2007-11-24 22:17:30

I have 8! They are cute! You should feed them everyday and keep fresh water :) dont handle them too much! They are grey and white. They are so small and cute!!

make sure that they go to a loving family who understand how to properly care for them, feel free to do a quick informal interview before selling or adopting them out (you want to make sure that in two months this family isn't trying to find them a new home the way you are now), you can even print out this care sheet from petco:

and give it to the new owners as alittle helpful guide

if you bred your gerbils and these are the babies that they had then you could always sell them to a local pet store (try to remember that there are 253,202 homeless animals, including 160 homeless gerbils, on petfinder.com right now so separate your males from your females and stop adding to the already over-populated census).

if you can't find them a new home, and you don't want to care for them anymore then I urge you to take them somewhere where they will be cared for, like your local humane society; however try to find them a new home first before you take them there because most shelters have enough to deal with already and if you can find them a new home theres no need to give your local shelter more work (they have enough homeless animals to take care of)

Bring them to your local pet store or sometimes schools will take them as a class pet.
